There’s a warning about an online dating scam, and KPRC Local 2 investigative reporter Amy Davis has what you need to know so you don’t end up heartbroken and broke, the station reported Monday.

Law enforcement officers said the number of “sweetheart scams” is off the charts, but there are things to do to protect yourself.

Linda Long was a dating Web site user who did not get what she expected.

When 30 students crowded into the basement of the Hillel building wearing bold numbers taped to their chests, it looked as if a marathon was about to start. These students were here for a very different game: speed dating.

On Thursday night Hillel hosted its first speed dating night - complete with candlelit tables and soft background music - to provide Jewish students an alternative forum to find their match.

Dating show for farmers has Dutch glued to TV screens

THE HAGUE — There is no sex, no scandal, no sniping and no foul language, but a new Dutch reality show is getting ratings TV bosses dream of, with a quarter of the country glued to their television sets.

The “stars” are Dutch farmers trying to find wives to share love and the quiet, if rough, rural life.
